HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh state Haj committee in collaboration with the All India Jamiyyatul Mashiak on Sunday held a training camp for Haj pilgrims and told them about the precautions to be taken during the journey.
Chairman of the Haj Committee Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed told the pilgrims of many tips like wearing 'ihram' and taking help from guides. "No devotee should carry banned things in their hand bags such as knives, alcohol bottles or tobacco products," he cautioned. This year, the Haj pilgrimage will commence on Sept 30 and end on Oct 16. The state government spends about `50 lakh a year on the pilgrims while the Haj panel bears about `30 lakh on guides and `20 lakh for providing food and other facilities to poor pilgrims.

About 7,104 AP pilgrims will be going for Haj this year. Over 650 pilgrims from Bidar, Gulbarga and Yadagiri in Karnataka will also join.
