Two persons wanted in murder cases committed in Jharkhand were arrested from New Delhi, police said on Sunday.

Two persons wanted in murder cases committed in Jharkhand were arrested from New Delhi, police said on Sunday.

Ram Vinay Shahu (27) and Ashok Singh (20), both from Gumla district of Jharkhand, were arrested on Saturday after police received information that they were staying at Nihal Vihar in West Delhi, police said.

"As per details from Jharkhand police, Shahu and Singh are the members of 'Pahadi Chita' gang, which was involved in extortion.

They had killed a pradhan of Morang Panchayat in Jharkhand in November last year. Both of them were also wanted for trying to kill one Ram Vinay," a police officer said.

"Police on April 26 got information that the duo was coming towards 50 feet road, Nihar Vihar area.

Police laid a trap and arrested them after chasing them," officer said.
