KADAPA: The Congress led UPA government is conspiring to bifurcate the state bowing to pressure from Telangana separatists, observed Rayachoti MLA G Srikanth Reddy and Samaikyandhra JAC convener Ch Chandrasekhar Reddy.Addressing a press conference here on Friday, they along with other JAC leaders said they would not keep quite if the Union government bifurcated the state. They said they were ready for any sacrifice for keeping the state unified. If any decision was taken on the issue without taking into account the opinion and sentiment of people in Rayalaseema, they said, they would oppose it.Stating that not a single issue in Sribagh pact was implemented though 75 years had passed since it was made, they reminded that they had even lost Kurnool as capital for the sake of unified state. They demanded the Union government to implement Sribagh pact, give the assured river water to Rayalaseema and complete all pending projects in the region before even contemplating on any decision pertaining to state bifurcation.Srikanth Reddy and JAC leaders took strong objection to the proposal of merging Anantapur and Kurnool in Telangana and forming Rayala Telangana.“There is a need for everyone to stand united for the cause of Rayalaseema people,’’ they said.A meeting of all people’s representatives from Rayalaseema, including MPs, MLAs, former MPs and MLAs, ZPTCs MPPs and MPTCs will be held in Kadapa on October 10 to bring pressure on the Centre to keep the state united. It was also decided to intensify agitations for keeping the state unified.Samaikyandhra JAC leaders B Hariprasad, S Goverdhan Reddy, R Venkatasubba Reddy, Siva Reddy, P Suresh and M Devanath Reddy were also present.
