London: A 12-year-boy in Britain has been sentenced to four years in prison for raping two girls a year ago. He is one of the youngest people convicted of rape in the country.
The boy attacked his first victim, then aged 10, while playing hide and seek in a park in Greater Manchester's Bolton area, The Sun reported.
He approached his other victim, then aged seven, while she was playing football. After persuading her to go to "his office" behind planks of wood leaning against a house, he ordered her to perform a sex act on him before raping her.
Judge Mark Brown said: "The girls did not consent in any way when you forced yourself on them and they underwent a dreadful ordeal. Their innocence was taken away from them and they have suffered psychological harm and it has impacted on their parents."
"The public is bound to be horrified that one so young has committed such serious crimes."
The boy denied rape and sex assault charges at Liverpool Crown Court. He was found guilty at an earlier hearing and sentenced to prison term on Friday.
