Driven by passion, a man from Azamgarh built his own 'Mini Thar' in eight months, spending just Rs 2.5 lakh to fulfill his dream

Many people dream of purchasing a car with their hard-earned money, but financial constraints can sometimes stand in the way. Similarly, a man from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, longed to own a Mahindra Thar. Undeterred by his financial limitations, he decided to fulfill his dream through creative and unconventional means.

The man built his own ‘Mini Thar’, a remarkable replica of his dream car, drawing crowds of onlookers eager to catch a glimpse of his handiwork.

The mastermind behind this impressive feat is Pravesh Maurya, a skilled motor mechanic from Bijaura village in Azamgarh. Driven by his passion and ingenuity, he spent eight months meticulously crafting his four-wheeler, which cost him only Rs 2.5 lakh.

Pravesh Maurya’s battery-powered ‘Mini Thar’ can comfortably cover a distance of 100 km on a single charge, with a maximum speed of 40 km per hour. The vehicle comfortably accommodates four passengers and can effortlessly transport heavy loads. Incorporating his technical expertise, Pravesh equipped the ‘Mini Thar’ with gears, enabling it to navigate challenging terrain and carry substantial weight with ease.

Speaking to Local18, Pravesh Maurya shared that his motivation stemmed from a desire to fulfill his ambition while addressing a practical need. He sought to create a vehicle that was not only affordable to build but also economical to operate.

Maurya explained that the vehicle utilizes a motor and controller similar to those found in e-rickshaws. To maximize efficiency and range, LED bulbs are strategically employed throughout the vehicle.

He envisions broader applications for his ‘Mini Thar’, particularly in the agricultural sector. He believes that with support from the administration, his creation could be adapted to benefit farmers.

Maurya suggests that utilizing this vehicle model for agricultural purposes could significantly reduce farming expenses. With government assistance, he aspires to develop versions suitable for tasks like ploughing, potentially revolutionizing farming practices and empowering farmers.
