A car overturned after hitting a wild boar on the Lucknow-Varanasi highway, leaving three members of a family dead and five others injured, police said on Tuesday.
The family was returning home from a hospital when the accident took place amid fog on Monday evening, they said. The deceased were identified as Rajmati (60), her son Sonu Pal (26) and sister-in-law Samarathi Devi (55).
The injured have been referred to the Trauma Centre in Lucknow, while another person is undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.
