Vakkom loses bet, Vellappally wins gold ring

ALAPPUZHA: Senior Congress leader Vakkom Purushothaman gave a two sovereign gold ring to SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natessan after the former lost a bet on Assembly election results.Vakkom had a bet with Vellapally that the UDF would win over 85 seats in the elections. However, Vellappally predicted that the UDF would get less than 85 seats only.Vakkom handed over the gold ring to Vellapally at his residence at Kanichukulangara on Wednesday. On the occasion, Vellappally said that the UDF would rule the state only for twoandahalf years. However, Vakkom said the UDF government would complete its tenure.
