Video Shows Underage Girls Drinking Beer At Chhattisgarh Govt School, Probe Underway

The Chhattisgarh government has launched an investigation after a video surfaced on social media showing underage girl students drinking beer inside a government school in Bilaspur district.

An official confirmed that the video, which was recorded on July 29, shows students consuming beer and soft drinks at the Government Higher Secondary School in Bhatchaura village, Masturi area.

In the viral video, girls are seen drinking beer and soft drinks, said TR Sahu, the District Education Officer (DEO) of Bilaspur.

A three-member committee has been formed to investigate the incident. The team recorded the statements of the involved students and teachers on Monday, Sahu added.

Sahu further stated that the students informed the investigation team they had waved beer bottles for fun while recording videos but did not actually consume the beverage.

According to official sources, some girls celebrated a classmate’s birthday inside a classroom on July 29, during which they allegedly drank beer. Later, one of the students shared videos and photographs of the event on social media.

“Action will be taken against the principal and the head of the institution to ensure that such incidents don’t recur in schools. Besides, notices will be sent to the parents of the girls involved,” the official said.
