Vijay plans to sing often

CHENNAI: Actor Vijay, who is fondly addressed as ‘Ilayathalapathy’ by his fans, is an extraordinary dancer. But not many know that he is a trained singer as well. However, when such facts were pointed out to him on Monday at an event to launch Big FM’s little RJ hunt, the actor, riding on the success of his latest movie Velayudham, said, “I am planning to sing more in my upcoming movies,” which resulted in a loud applause from the audience, which consisted mainly of college students. The event saw 52 college students from across the city, who were also ardent fans of the actor, coming forward to register for organ donation to mark the success of the star’s 52nd movie. Being the clam character that he is, Vijay answered most of the questions thrown at him during the interview for BBC’s Star Talk programme that was held as part of the event. About the success of Velayudham, which the audience pointed out has emerged as the winner among movies that were released for Deepavali, the actor said, “I am very happy with the success and feel encouraged to do even better.” The interview will be aired next month, a release said.
