YSR Congress honorary president YS Vijayalakshmi criticised the central government saying it has pursued anti-farmer and anti-weaver policies as a result of which both the sections are suffering. Addressed a gathering at her Cheneta Deeksha venue here on Monday, she said her party will work for the welfare of the weavers community.
Saying that weavers are hit by steep hike in yarn price and other costs, she flayed TDP president Chandrababu Naidu for the suicide of more than 200 weavers during his regime after he abolished the Janatha Vastralu scheme introduced by the late NT Rama Rao.
While she spoke TRS activists created a pandemonium. Vijayamma did not say anything on Telangana statehood, but the speakers before her said YSRC will not object if Telangana state is carved out.
