Viral Video: Truck Hits UP Man Sitting On A Plastic Chair In Middle Of Busy Road

A UP man, sitting on a plastic chair in the middle of a busy road, was unharmed after being hit by a truck in Pratapgarh, police said. A viral clip on the social media platform X shows the unidentified man, dressed only in black shorts, seemingly unfazed as vehicles pass him on the road.

As passersby jeered at him, a truck approached from behind. Unaware of the impending danger, the man turned to look at the crowd, and the truck struck the side of his chair, knocking him to the ground.

Despite the sudden collision, the man appeared unhurt, lying on the road while looking around in shock. Onlookers, rather than expressing concern, urged the truck driver not to stop and to keep driving, dismissing the incident as a spectacle. “Brother, this was really nice,” a person can be heard saying in the video.

Local police have since acknowledged the video, which has gone viral on social media. They reported that the man is mentally ill and has been returned to his family. Police also mentioned that they are working to identify the truck involved in the incident and will pursue further legal action.

“After immediate investigation by Kotwali Nagar Police Station, the family of the young man was informed that he is mentally ill and has been handed over to his family. The truck that hit the young man is being identified and further legal proceedings are underway,” the Pratapgarh police said in a post on X.
