Volunteers cleanse Kuakhai

 BHUBANESWAR: Post-Puja, rivers bear the brunt of pollution caused by immersion of idols. Once the revelry is over, it’s back to business for all and no one spares a thought how to cleanse the rivers __ lifelines for many villagers who often use the water for drinking purposes too.    Taking up the cudgels for the cause, this year the Youth Red Cross has initiated move to clean the water bodies. Volunteers from Youth Red Cross on Saturday cleansed the Kuakhai of remnants of the idols. Secretary of State Red Cross Mangala Prasad Mohanty, Joint Secretary Madhusudan Rao and Red Cross Officer Sarita Supakar supervised.
