VS son may be axed from IHRD

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Attempts to nail V A Arunkumar, the only son of Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan, are likely to be sharpened in a couple of days. Arunkumar, who has been in the eye of a political storm over his alleged ‘illegal’ ascension to the top Additional-Director post of IHRD, may be suspended. He is also the director of the model finishing school under the IHRD. The government is all set to take a formal decision on the findings of the Principal Accountant-General and the finance department inspection wing stating that he and the IHRD Director Dr Subaramaniam were guilty on various counts. The education department has recommended the suspension of the duo. Revenue Minister Tiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, who is holding the charge of the Vigilance Department, said that the charges against Arunkumar will have a natural course of action. “The education department has recommended his suspension and also sought a probe into the findings on the report.”
