Harry Potter, his friends and his foes - come to you one last time in the documentary by Morgan Matthews.

New Delhi: 10 years and 8 films later, Harry Potter, his friends and his foes – come to you one last time in the documentary by Morgan Matthews called – ‘When Harry Left Hogwarts’.

The 48 minute documentary is a behind the scenes from the last movie – ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2’. The magnum opus of a last book by JK Rowling was broken in to two parts to do fitting justice to the grand face off between Voldemort and Harry Potter – the quintessential fight of the good and the evil.

The Blue-Ray box set containing all the 8 movies will hit the shelves on the 14th of November and along with that treasure trove comes the 48 minute documentary.

For all these 10 years, the cast and crew seem to have been mouthing practiced lines about the franchise but the trailer of ‘When Harry Left Hogwarts’ promises to be something else completely.

To start with – it comes across as heartfelt and honest. It captures the actors behind the scenes on the sets in the Leavesden Studios where the last two parts of the series have been shot. Matthews catches the actors off guard and gets them to talk candidly about the magical life that has almost fixed the identities of some permanently.

The actors seem to not only understand the burden of capturing the imagination of millions for 10 whole years but they are conscious of the possibility that they may never be accepted in any other role. While Rowling has said that she does not have any plans to write an 8th Harry Potter book – the fans can only be ever hopeful.

Daniel Radcliffe who carries the weight of the heavy title role says in the sneak peek of the documentary that he is scared that he may not to as well in any role but that of Harry Potter. For the fans – he was Harry Potter – in the pages of the book and the big screen.

Both Emma Watson and Rupert Grint echo the same painful attachment – they admit that they do not know of life beyond the Harry Potter world. The child stars have grown up on the sets and the magical world of Hoqwarts, Platform 9 and ¾ , Hogsmead and Diagon Ally – is more real than the world outside.

The final installment of the Harry Potter saga had the fans bidding a tearful farewell to the characters – each and every face on the screen left a strong memory mark on the lives of the fans.

Matthew however manages to jump over the hurdle of stars and reaches out to the entire cast and crew – ever student in Hogwarts, the Death Eaters (one of them who works with sound in his free time) and the goblins in Gringotts. With this one deft move – he makes the documentary as real as a conversation over coffee. For clearly, 10 years on the sets changed more lives than just those of Radcliffe, Watson and Grint.

The Harry Potter franchise, right from 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' (Published as – 'Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone’) to the final movie installment of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2' – was a story of a life time. It broke records in book sales and box office responses world wide. So this cannot be and end just yet! Emma Thompson who plays the role of Sybill Trelawny in the movies puts it rather aptly – to get over something this huge – you are definitely going to need therapy.

Perhaps Morgan Matthews has found a fitting closure to 'Pottermania'.
