HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will lay the foundation stones for a 10 ML water reservoir and inlet and outlet water lines in the Allabanda zone on Thursday. These projects are being taken up under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) to improve the water pressure in the distribution system and to provide equitable water supply. The construction of the reservoir will be taken up at a cost of Rs 6.75 crore while laying of inlet and outlet mains will cost about Rs 8.98 crore.As many as 1 lakh people in areas of Allabanda, Magalhat, Ziaguda, Gode-ki-Kabar, Dattatreya Nagar, Razzakpet, Ganga Bowli, Natraj Nagar, Jirrah, Uppera, Lower Dhoolpet, Sitaram Bagh, Azizbagh and Jiyaguda are expected to benefit through the building up of water reservoir and the new mains.The projects are supposed to improve water pressures, ensured supplies through reservoirs, longer duration of supply, equitable distribution of water, additional storage capacity and stabilised water supply.
