BANGALORE: Seeking to undermine his predecessor-turned-tormentor B S Yeddyurappa’s tour of drought-hit districts, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that he would welcome the former’s state tour and was looking forward for suggestions.“I welcome suggestions from any leader, be it H D Deve Gowda, Siddaramaiah, KPCC president Parameshwar or Yeddyurappa, and implement them. I will not indulge in politics over drought,” Gowda told reporters after visiting a temple here on Wednesday. However, he begged to differ from Yeddyurappa who had accused the official machinery of being in deep slumber. “Our officers are doing a good job in tackling the drought situation. Drought relief works are also going on satisfactorily,” Gowda added. To a question, he said that there were indications that there would be no rains for another two months. Therefore, I have instructed all the officers to be on their toes. This apart, three teams of ministers have also been formed. “I will also visit some of the taluks which are severely hit by the drought,” the chief minister added.
