THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Drunken driving by a VSSC bus driver almost caused the loss of another life, when a woman was knocked down by the bus near Vattiyoorkavu on Monday morning. According to traffic police, the VSSC bus from Veli hit Vasantha, 56, a resident of Vattiyoorkavu, near Kulashekharam school, at around 9 am. The bus which went out of control hit the woman and ran over her lower limb. The woman who was critically injured has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital. The bus driver Vijayakumaran Nair was in inebriated state at the time of the accident. Traffic police registered a case. This is latest incident involving VSSC buses. Two weeks ago, a similar accident occurred resulting in death of a woman. Next day, a mobile court booked another VSSC driver for drunken driving.
