Saleh vowed not to seek reelection when his current term expires in 2013.
Sanaa: Yemen's embattled President Ali Abdullah Saleh told a group of supporters he would remain steadfast and would not accept "conspiracies or coups."
"Those who want power or to gain the seat of power should do it by heading to the ballot box. Change and departure will be through voting under the legal framework of the constitution," Saleh, who has ruled the impoverished Arabian Peninsula state for 32 years, was quoted as saying by Yemen's official state news agency.
Saleh vowed not to seek reelection when his current term expires in 2013, but has faced an unprecedented wave of protesters calling for his immediate resignation.
