Kanpur: The third Test between India and South Africa might have something radically different to offer to what has been seen in the previous two games.
Talks are going around that the ball might turn square from as early as Day Two at the Green park stadium here.
After Chennai and Ahmedabad provided zilch assistance to the spinners, the Kanpur strip might play to the home team's advantage.
Reportedly, a heavy roller was used on Monday, killing the grass and thus the advantage that South African pacers might have drawn from the surface. It is also being said that top soil of the strip will start eroding after the first day and from thereon, there will be vicious turn and uneven bounce.
India might go with three spinners in Kanpur to make the best of the surface but the visitors are most likely to go with the usual three pacers and one spinner combination, keeping in mind the uneven bounce will only help their pace trio which ripped through India in the previous Test.
