All in good fun, Yuvraj Singh was seemingly in splits watching a broken bat in the hands of his former India team-mate Gautam Gambhir on Wednesday.
The opening match of IPL8 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians saw an unusual incident where a forward defence by Gambhir to a Vinay Kumar delivery broke the KKR captain’s bat in half – leaving just the handle and a bit in his hand.
While Gambhir had a bemused look on his look, Yuvraj, in Chennai with his new team Delhi Daredevils’ first match on Thursday, pushed a tongue-in-cheek tweet on the incident.
“Now that actually looks like @GautamGambhir size bat ! #IPL2015,” Yuvraj, who at Rs. 16 crore is IPL’s most expensive player this season, tweeted.
Yuvraj is known for his pranks in the dressing room and while it may look like a dig to some, the comment is definitely in good humour. And Gambhir, who led defending champions KKR to a winning start against Mumbai on Tuesday, would very well know that from his days with Yuvi in the Indian dressing room.
