On September 10, several media reports shared that the K-pop star will play the lead role with Seo In-guk in the upcoming K-Drama titled Boyfriend Monthly. The storyline for the drama reportedly centres on a couple who first crossed paths in a fantasy world. Boyfriend Monthly will be directed by Kim Jung-sik, who previously directed No Gain No Love, Work Later, Drink Now and Strong Girl Nam Soon. The drama’s setting is unique, as it features a world where people can subscribe to virtual boyfriends and the plot reportedly moves ahead as the characters’ relationships transition from the virtual space into real life.
However, the news has sparked a range of reactions online, with some fans expressing doubts about Jisoo’s acting skills. Her performances in the past have been met with mixed reviews, leaving many hoping she’s worked on improving her craft.
