New Delhi: The day 3 of the Amazon India fashion week was a celebration of Indian colours and some great western winter wear concocted out of a mix of Indian and international fabrics and colors.

Paromita Banerjee, in the first show of the day, used natural dyes and colors like white, black, gray and blue on fabrics like khadi, mulmul and silks to show a great collection of saris, kurtas, capes and jackets. The music, which at first felt like a jungle tune, grew into a tune consisting of an enchanting flute and light drums. Though the ensembles looked perfect, the cotton patched, and quilted jackets stood out and the colored borders to the long flowing pants added the surprise element.

The next show by Tanvi Kedia, had the audiences amazed with the bright colors and beautiful, detailed embroidery and prints. The designer has drawn inspirations from the travelers and their adventures through India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. With a folkloric touch the collection of saris, lehengas, kurtas and skirts looked as though a mosaic of bright colors like yellow, orange, pink, red, green and purple. The background score of the film 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' blended into the theme of the traveler's experiences which the show was based on.

Eka's clothes, apart from having the cozy winter feel, had great elegance and a particular feminine feel. With monotones, somber maroon, dark blues and off whites on khadi, woolen blends and silks made for some really innovative and interesting cloths. The designer also showed some interesting accessories in handbags, shoes and hats. The designer called the collection winter centric, with a lot of nativity and layering effects.

Replacing models with common people from the fashion industry were the young new designers Shani Himanshu and Mia Morikawa of 11.11. "We did not use models as the people who walked the ramp for us are our target buyers and they work with us we get affected by their energy so asked them to walk for us," explained Mia Morikawa.

They used natural dyes on hand woven cotton and kala cotton fabric. Indigo was an eminent color in the collections. 11 11 was another show where the jackets stood out.
