It may be difficult to think about sunny days when skies are gray and gloomy, but with spring just around the corner, thoughts are already turning to furniture trends for gardens and terraces. This year sees vibrant color blocking back in a big way.
Bright light
Lexon brings color and light to outdoor spaces with the "Clover Garden" light. This can be charged over a USB connection or via its handy solar cell. Stick it into a plant pot or flower bed or string it up with a cord. (€39).
Cool blue
Matière Grise brings a cool, inviting swimming pool blue to garden lounges with the "Hégoa" sofa (€1,095). The sofa's steel structure is adorned with cushions made from a special outdoor fabric that's water-repellant and UV-resistant. The cushions are available in black, cream or taupe.
Leafy green
The rustproof, robust and stackable "A" chair from Tolix started life on the chic "Normandie" ocean liner in 1935. Today, it's taken root in the garden with a stylish green finish. (Price available on request).
Movida pop
Spanish fashion designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada has teamed up with garden furniture maker Sifas to create a colorful new capsule collection. This comprises three versions of the "Phéniks" chair and three versions of the "Kwadra" table. The chair's seat and backrest are woven from candy-bright shades of orange, pink, blue, green and yellow, offering three different color combinations. The table has a sandy white top supported by a structure finished in pink, blue or orange. (Prices available on request).
Think pink
Previously available in transparent or orange, the "Airflower" inflatable chair, designed by Fabrice Berrux for Roche Bobois, is now available in bright pink. (Price available on request).
