Looking For Tasty Tea-time Snacks? Try This Onion Pakoda Recipe At Home
You need to first mix one cup of Gram Flour (Besan) with water and make a thick batter.

Everyone of us struggles to find some good tea-time snacks. We often prefer to buy snacks from roadside shops which are often unhealthy. The oil used in the roadside shops is often old and burnt which can cause multiple types of health issues. People even suffer from diarrhoea and dysentery after consuming those roadside snacks. So, it is always better to cook the snacks at home. Today we will talk about one such recipe of Onion pakoda that you will love during your tea time.

Let us first look at the ingredients required:

  1.  Onions – 4

     Gram flour  (besan)  – 1 cup

    Curry leaves – 1 cup

    Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

    Semolina (Soojee) – 1 cup

    All-purpose flour (Maida) – 1 cup

    Salt – According to taste

    Chopped green chillies

    Chopped coriander leaves

    Oil as per your requirement

    Let us look take a look at the recipe:

    1. Slice the onions according to the preferred length and soak them into water.

      Mix one cup of Gram Flour (Besan) with water and make a thick batter. The batter should be thick enough so that it can create a coating texture.

      Add the onions to the batter and then add 1 cup of curry leaves, 1 teaspoon of cumin seed, 1 cup of Semolina (Soojee) and 1 cup of all-purpose flour (Maida).

      Mix it properly then add chopped chillies according to your taste preference. Also add chopped coriander leaves and salt, according to your taste.

      Then add around 5 teaspoons of oil and mix the batter well without adding water.

      Now take some oil in accordance with the quantity and wait until the oil gets heated.

      Then put the batter in the hot oil giving it a circular shape

      Fry the Pakodas nicely to ensure crispness.

      Once the pakodas turn golden brown, remove them from the oil and drain the excess oil by placing them on the tissue paper.

       Your Onion pakodas are ready! Enjoy the hot pakodas with tea or coffee. You can also enjoy the pakodas with rice.
