From our first lesson of life to our first dance moves, if there is anybody to witness them apart from our family members, are our beloved teachers.
Every year, as September 5 nears, we all grow nostalgic about our good old school days. No matter how much we ran away from teachers as school kids, we all have some special memories of ‘peculiar’ kind of teachers that have left a remarkable impact on our lives.
Bringing back the fond memories of old school days, we bring you a list of 10 teachers that are so cool to be forgotten that even Bollywood has kept their evergreen characteristics alive through its films.
Mr. Know It All
We have all had a teacher who either claims to know it all or if you’re in luck, he/she might just actually KNOW-IT-ALL. Oh, there are no second questions to it. Amitabh Bachchan, who played a teacher turned social activist in ‘Aarakshan’, perfectly fits the picture of ‘Mr. Know It All’.
Miss Dhinchak
Haven’t all of us been lucky to have a teacher who is always well dressed? Not only the guys drool over her, but girls too show no qualms in checking her out. Sushmita Sen in ‘Mai Hoon Na’ or Chitrangda Singh in ‘Desi Boyzz’ are best for this category.
Mr. Cupid Struck
How can we not talk about the hot male teachers around? One male professor and girls drooling over him is a common scene in schools and colleges. Whether it’s Shah Rukh Khan from ‘Chakk De! India’ or Shahid Kapoor from ‘Paathshaala’, we have no dearth of attractive teachers, courtesy Bollywood.
Mr. Beyond-the-books
These are the most cherished ones from the lot. Not only do they torture us with their knowledge but never fail to enlighten us with the even bigger lessons of life. Teaching beyond what is mentioned in the syllabus, they play indispensable roles in our lives. Naseeruddin Shah in ‘Sir’ or Amir Khan in ‘Taare Zameen Par’ both of them proved to be the major changing forces in the lives of their students.
Mr. Strict-bum
Amitabh Bachchan as Narayan Shankar in ‘Mohabbatein ’ or as Debaraj Sahai in ‘Black’ make up for the most dreaded teachers. Being a major reason behind students taking too many offs or being extra regular in school, these teachers follow their own rules and regulations book.
Mr. Ratta Maar
Viru Sahastrabuddhe from ‘3 idiots’ is the perfect example of this Ratta Maar category. Teachers, who pledge to teach their students what is mentioned in the prescribed syllabus, not even a single alphabet extra, fall in this category. Obviously, they expect the students to utter the exact same words what they have made them mug up in their own style.
Miss. Desi-Maa
Rifat Bi from ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ or Bindu from ‘Mai Hoon Na’ are the epitomes of motherly teachers. The most homely teachers are a part of this category. Not only do they treat you like their kids, they even ask you to perform their daily chores. Providing a home away from home, they are loved by students of all shapes and sizes.
Mr. Old School
There couldn’t have been a better example than Santosh Duggal of ‘Do Dooni Hai Chaar’ for this.
Despite the immense advancements in technology, these teachers still decide to stick to the old school ways of teaching. If and when you gather courage to talk to them, you end up realizing that they are a storehouse of knowledge and experience waiting to be shared.
Mr. Kabhi Affection, Kabhi Aggression
With mood swings as their key personality trait, they have a PhD in giving tough time to students. Always motivating and encouraging, such teachers are not easy to find. Shah Rukh Khan from ‘Chakk De! India’ or Naseeruddin Shah from ‘Iqbal’ motivated students in every possible way. From encouraging pats to using witty and harsh words, these teachers have done it all.
Mr. Cool
Not every day do you come across teachers who are calm even during the toughest of situations. Bollywood has provided us with too good to be true principals in ‘Mai Hoon Na’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. These ever-smiling teachers are sweethearts for students.
