Why food connoisseurs should attend food festival 'Grub Fest'
The food carnival, which makes its debut this year got over 150 plus queries from various eateries and restaurants.

Delhiites have a chance to savour a variety of food this weekend.

Lebanese, Chinese, North Indian, Italian, Mughlai, Mexican, Coastal, Sushi and a variety of other cuisines from nearly 50 city eateries have been brought under one roof in a 'Grub Fest' organised here at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Lawns.

A brainchild of passionate foodies- Chaitanya Mathur and Mani Singh Cheema, the event was inspired after extensive travelling throughout the world and attending various food festivals.

"The idea to bring a food carnival like this was conceptulised four years ago. After extensive travelling to International Food Festivals like the 'Taste of London' which impressed us, we executed our plans and came up with this food carnival bringing in wide variety of food for our guests visiting the food fest," says Mathur.

The food carnival, which makes its debut this year got over 150 plus queries from various eateries and restaurants from which it brought over 70 eateries under its umbrella including wide variety of famous restaurants and cuisines on pop ups and food trucks.

Salads to north Indian food, vegetarian to Mughalai, coastal food to Chinese and many more, the food carnival attempts to bring a variety of food to the capital for three days, ending April 5.

"We wanted the foodies to taste different cuisines under the same roof and hence came up with this idea of laying cuisines from all over the world. We want the people to come for all the three days," says Mathur.

Participants of the three day food-extravaganza include various restaurants like Royal China, United Coffee House, Zizo, Ploof, Zambar, Nawabi, Smokey's, Fio, Town Hall, Dao, Switch, NYC Pie, Kathi's, Shiv Sagar etc. There is also a bar done by A Ta Maison & PCO.

Among the food trucks was the Lalit Food Truck Company serving crispy taco, falafel and fries, tortilla wraps, churros and burgers. The truck journeys in cities like Khajuraho, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Udaipur, Goa, Srinagar though the menu remains the same.

Other food trucks include 'What the Truck' and Super Sucker. Super Sucker has been serving food in corporate parties, music fests and has been in the catering services. The 'mutton wrap' seemed to be the most selling item at this eating joint while salads, burito, soya keema pav and French fries were also on the menu.
