Lucknow Man Stabs Wife 19 Times in Crowded Market Over Suspected Extramarital Affairs, Held

In a shocking incident from Lucknow’s Daliganj, a man was arrested for stabbing his wife 19 times with a pair of scissors.

The accused, identified as Brijmohan Nishad is in his fifties, attacked his wife after suspecting him of having an illicit affair.

The incident that occurred at a vegetable market near Lambekeshwar Park in the Qutubpur area of Lucknow, was captured in a video and has gone viral on social media.

The accused, Nishad has been charged under sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt using a dangerous weapon or means) and 342 (punishment for wrongful restraint) of the IPC, police said.

Speaking about the horrific incident, the additional DCP (Central Zone) Manisha Singh told Times of India, “Rahul Nishad, the victim’s son, informed the police that his mother had gone to the vegetable market on the morning of January 7. Suddenly, his father, Brijmohan, approached her, stabbing her multiple times within seconds, and then fled the scene.”

The 52-year-old victim is currently being treated at KGMU and has been reported to be out of danger.

The police further said that prima facie it has been revealed that the man suspected his wife of having an illicit affair which often led to tussles between them, a TOI report stated.

The FIR, registered by her son, mentioned that his father had previously attacked his mother several times due to which a complaint was filed with the police in December.
