One of the modern classics of Bollywood, 'Rang De Basanti' completes 10 years of its release tomorrow. This Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial became an example of modern patriotism for the youth, which was somewhere lost in the wave of globalisation and westernisation of thoughts.
2006 was a time when corruption scandals were being exposed, the percentage of young India was increasing and the wave of radical thoughts needed a push to turn into fruitful action. Mehra's young 'patriotic' brigade consisted of Aamir Khan, Siddharth, Kunal Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni, Alice Patten and Soha Ali Khan with R Madhavan in a supporting role. These 'college-going' characters became 'us' and every word uttered by them became ours.
With DJ's witty one liners to the revival of Chandra Shekhar Azad's and Bhagat Singh's revolutionary lines, 'Rang De Basanti' defined nationalism to Gen Y's modern cinema perfectly.
On the occasion of 67th Republic Day and 10 years of 'Rang De Basanti', IBNLive brings to you 10 popular dialogues from the film. Relive the radicalism of young India which is relevant till date:
