2.0 Box Office Collection: Rajinikanth Film's Hindi Version Beats Baahubali, Creates This Record
After making it strong in India, the film is all set to knock the box office in China.

S Shankar’s 2.0 (Hindi version), starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles, has set new benchmark by creating multiple records at the box office on its seventh day of the release. The film, which packed an impressive total in its extended opening weekend, has crossed Rs 132 crore mark at the box office on day 7 as it collected Rs 9.50 crore on Wednesday.

Apart from that, it has become the second highest grossing Hindi dubbed film by surpassing the lifetime business of S S Rajamouli's Baahubali. It is also Rajnikanth’s highest earning Hindi film.

Tweeting the latest box office figures, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote: "#2Point0 continues its winning streak... Maintains a super-strong hold on weekdays... Thu 20.25 cr, Fri 18 cr, Sat 25 cr, Sun 34 cr, Mon 13.75 cr, Tue 11.50 cr, Wed 9.50 cr. Total: ₹ 132 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version." (sic)

2.0 become the highest opener of 2018 by collecting Rs 73.5 crore (all versions) on the opening day and earned Rs 25 crore (Hindi) on Saturday. With an average opening in Hindi version, the film subsequently picked up its collection on the third day of its release.

After making it strong in India, the film is all set to knock the box office in China. Recently IANS reported that it is gearing up for a major China release across 56,000 screens.

A sequel to 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, 2.0 is backed by Lyca Productions and was released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on November 29. In a statement, Lyca Productions confirmed the news that the sci-fi movie releases in association with HY Media in China with at least 47,000 of the total screens playing it in 3D format.

"2.0 will release in China in May 2019 and it will be the widest 3D release for any foreign language film in history," the statement said.

The film sees Akshay in the role of an antagonist, Pakshirajan, a cellphone-hating mutant scientist. Rajinikanth reprises his role as Dr Vaseegaran and robot Chitti from the original film. Apart from Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar the film also features Adil Hussain, Sudhanshu Pandey and Amy Jackson in key roles. Music maestro AR Rahman has scored the film.
