Aamir Khan and Pankaj Tripathi’s New Video is the Best Thing on Internet Today

Bollywood’s current favourite, Pankaj Tripathi, is at it again. After featuring in eight films and two web series this year, which included projects like Stree, Sacred Games and Mirzapur, he is now featuring as shopkeeper in a new ad with Aamir Khan.

Khan shared the video on Twitter on Saturday. “Thoroughly enjoyed shooting this! Was an absolute pleasure to work with Suresh Triveni and of course @TripathiiPankaj. Big thank you to Aatish and JD for helping me out with the accent!#SachMein @starindia,” he tweeted.

In the 1.22-minute clip, Khan plays a Gujarati customer bewildered at the low price of a DTH service and is trying to ask the shopkeeper (played by Tripathi) to increase it a bit. Sporting a red shirt, spectacles, gold chain and a moustache, Khan looks the part. Meanwhile, Tripathi is effortless as the adamant shopkeeper.

On the professional front, Khan’s last film Thugs of Hindostan was panned severely by critics and audience. A Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial, it also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif.

Taking full responsibility for the film’s box office failure, Khan even apologised for it. “We tried very hard to make a good film and we didn’t hold back from putting in our entire effort, but somewhere or the other we went wrong. Most people didn’t like our film—we are aware of that,” he said earlier.

Though he is yet to announce his next project, Tripathi will next be seen in three films—Super 30, Yours Truly and Luka Chuppi.
