Kartik Aaryan is quite secretive about his love life, but gossip about his romantic escapades has spread like wildfire. Rumours have linked him with leading ladies Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. Both Sara and Janhvi have dropped hints in interviews suggesting their relationships with Kartik didn’t last. Sara supposedly dated Kartik during Love Aaj Kal 2, and Kartik and Janhvi were said to be in a relationship during the filming of Dostana 2, which unfortunately got shelved, along with their romance.
In a chat with Neha Dhupia on No Filter Neha, Kartik faced a cheeky question about his dating escapades with two close friends, albeit not simultaneously. After thinking about it for a beat, Kartik threw a curveball at Neha, asking if it still counted if the friends became close later on. With Neha’s confirmation, Kartik sheepishly confessed he’s “guilty”. And when asked about the ultimate question he’d ask his ex at a party, Kartik’s witty reply was, “How’s your current?”
Sara and Janhvi have been friends for quite some time, even gracing the couch together on Koffee with Karan Season 7. They talked about their joint escapades on a few trips and the tight-knit connection they share. When Karan put Sara on the spot, asking, “one reason why your ex is your ex,” she said, “Because he’s everyone’s ex.”
Last year, during a chat with Anupama Chopra of Film Companion, he was asked if being a constant topic on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan, bothers him or takes away from his hard work. To this, Kartik said, “Ek cheez mujhe lagti hai – relationship agar do logo ki hai toh dusre insaan ko bhi woh baatein nehi karni chahiye. Hum sab ko apni relationship ki respect karni chahiye (One thing I believe in is that if a relationship is between two people, the other person should not talk about it. We should all respect our relationships).”
