Akshay Kumar To Make His Telugu Debut In Prabhas And Mohanlal Starrer Kannappa: Report

Akshay Kumar is gearing up for his next release Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Tiger Shroff. The action drama is releasing this Eid, i.e April 10. Well, now a report is coming in that the actor will be making his Telugu debut soon. He will be seen in Prabhas and Mohanlal starrer Kannappa.

Trade Analyst confirmed the news on X and wrote, “Bollywood Superstar @akshaykumar joins the cast of Prestigious Pan-India Biggie – Actor @iVishnuManchu’s Big Budget movie #Kannappa. After #Prabhas, @Mohanlal, @PDdancing and @realsarathkumar – @akshaykumar is one more grand addition to the movie’s cast…Stay tuned for more exciting updates..(sic)”. In March, the makers dropped the first look on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, which has sent the fandom into a frenzy.

Kannappa is touted to be an Indian epic based on a real story. The first look features the protagonist, Vishnu Manchu’s character emerging from a cascading waterfall with a bow and an arrow in his hand and an intense expression on his face. The poster hints at the probability of action sequences in the movie. The film cast also includes Mohan Babu, Shiva Rajkumar, Madhoo, Sarathkumar, Prabhu Deva, Brahmanandam, Mukesh Rishi, Kaushal Manda, and more.

Coming back to Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the CBFC has requested the team to make specific modifications in the film. As per the report, 14 seconds of visuals were blurred across three different scenes. That apart, a scene around the 57-minute mark was trimmed by 19 seconds, thus a reduction of 25%. In another part of the movie, a brand name was changed. Also, a disclaimer about alcohol consumption was included in a scene. That apart, the film’s team submitted a letter to the CBFC explaining the use of signs, symbols, uniform codes, and other details related to the Armed Forces.

The makers have also dropped the trailer. In the trailer, Akshay and Tiger go to great lengths to protect the nation from a terrorist attack. They perform intense stunts and deliver impactful dialogues. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the antagonist, Kabir, who has hijacked a potent, powerful and dangerous weapon and Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are entrusted with the task of getting it back safely.
