Raha Kapoor is already a social media sensation. Whenever Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s little angel is papped with them, fans just can’t stop drooling over the glimpses. The little girl is also her doting parents’ apple of the eyes, and the actor duo keeps discussing her in their interviews.
Alia Bhatt is currently promoting her upcoming action thriller Jigra, which will be released in cinemas on October 11. On the other hand, Jr NTR is promoting his upcoming action drama film Devara: Part 1, which will hit the theatres on September 27. During one such promotional spree, the duo sat for a candid conversation with Karan Johar and revealed many unheard anecdotes.
In one segment of their conversation, the actress recalled that she and her husband Ranbir Kapoor went to Jr NTR’s house when she was pregnant with her first child. At that time, the Bollywood duo was promoting Bramhastra: Part 1 in Hyderabad, and Jr NTR invited them to his house. Alia said: “This love started when Taarak (Jr NTR’s character in RRR) came very graciously to the Brahmastra press meeting in Hyderabad, and he invited us to his house for dinner."
“We had such a warm evening, and I remember that was the first time that we discussed possible baby names in front of everybody. Ranbir and I were like, ‘If it’s a girl, it’ll be this, if it’s a boy, it’ll be this’," she added. Alia also mentioned that Jr NTR loved the name ‘Raha’ so much that he prayed that his RRR co-star and her husband would pick the same for their princess if they were blessed with a daughter.

Talking about the beautiful name of Alia and Ranbir’s princess, the actress shared that Raha’s name was chosen by her dadi, Neetu Kapoor. It bears a beautiful meaning in various languages. In Swahili, it means joy, in Sanskrit, it means clan, while in Bengali, it refers to rest, comfort, and relief. Not only this, in Arabic, Raha refers to peace, happiness, freedom and bliss.
For the uninitiated, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in April 2022. On November 6, the same year, they were blessed with a little angel and named their princess Raha Kapoor.
