The name of Telugu actress Hema has been creating headlines for a long time now after she was arrested in connection with a rave party that took place in Bengaluru. In a recent development, the police reportedly filed a chargesheet on the whole incident that took place. Several important updates regarding the case emerged after the police filed a 1,086-page chargesheet.
According to reports, the chargesheet mentioned that actress Hema consumed drugs. It also stated that a total of nine people organised the party and around 88 people including Hema had used drugs. The medical report attached to the chargesheet indicated that she had consumed a drug named MDMA.
According to the police, the actress was invited to the party by her friends Vasu and Arun. The other names mentioned who organised the party include Dr Ranadhir Babu from Chittoor district Nagababu, Mohamadh Aboobakar, and a Nigerian national identified as Augustine Dada, who often organises such parties and is involved in supplying drugs.
The chargesheet was reportedly filed by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) officers of the state of Karnataka. The party was reportedly organised by Vasu to celebrate his birthday and the first anniversary of his event management company. Several prominent names attended the party including Hema.
The other 79 people who were accused of consuming drugs at the party have been reportedly booked under the NDPS Act section 27 (b), punishment for consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance. The section states that the accused shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with a fine which may extend to Rs 10,000, or with both. The final punishment will be announced by the court, an official stated.
According to the chargesheet filed by the police, there are a total of 82 witnesses to support their claims. The witnesses include inspector Lakshminarayana, other Central Crime Branch officials, employees of the venue of the party and other attendees. The police have also attached the forensic findings and medical reports.
