The list of contestants of actor Vijay Sethupathi-hosted reality TV show, Bigg Boss Tamil season 8, is out. The show is going to premiere on October 6 at 6 pm. The show will air on Vijay TV Tamil channel and will stream on the OTT platform, Disney Plus Hotstar. With the release of the first teaser on September 4, it was officially announced that actor Vijay Sethupathi will host the show. He replaced the former host Kamal Hassan. He announced in August 2024, that he would step down due to scheduling conflicts with his upcoming film projects. Hassan has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to viewers and emphasised his focus on his new project.
As it was earlier mentioned, the contestants will be revealed during the premiere of the show, but the final list of the candidates’ names is already out which includes actor-comedian VTV Ganesh, actress Sunita Gogoi, actress Anshitha Akbarsha, actor Raveendran, actor Ranjith, actor Babloo Prithiveeraj, actor Arun Prasad, TV actress Farina Azad, actress Pavithra Janani, actress Poonam Bajwa, actor Vinoth Babu, actress Sanchana Namidass, actor Deepak Dinkar, actress Alya Manasa, actor Kuraishi, model Amala Shaji, actress Samyuktha Vishwanathan, actress Shaalin Zoya, actress Divya Duraisamy, actress Akshitha Ashok, actor VJ Vishal, TV actress Rithika, and actress-model Roshni Haripriyan.
Initially, a rumoured contestant list was also circulated which created significant buzz among the audience, especially among the Bigg Boss lovers online. The initial list included actor Vijay Vishal, actress Divya Duraisamy, Model Amala Shaji, producer Ravinder, and actor Senthi.
The Bigg Boss house, like always, is located at EVP Film City near Chennai.
A full promotional video was also released on September 11, 2024, where actor Vijay Sethupathi declared, “This tie, new man, new play”, which has set the tone for an engaging and thrilling season ahead. Fans are keen to see how he navigates the show’s challenges, handles conflicts, and engages with the contestants. The makers have also revealed that the new season will focus on cross-examination between contestants, with numerous twists and surprises.
