The upcoming Malayalam film Thalavan, directed by Jis Joy, has reportedly received an U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. The film is produced by Arun Narayan and Sijo Sebastian under the banner of Arun Narayanan Productions and London Studios. Thalavan is set to cast two popular faces of the Malayalam film industry, actors Biju Menon and Asif Ali. In the film, Biju Menon is set to play the role of circle inspector named Jayashankar, while Asif Ali will be seen as a sub-inspector named Karthik. Following the successes of the films Eesho and Chaaver, Arun Narayanan Productions is back with this thriller to amaze the audience. Thalavan revolves around the story of an investigation led by Jayashankar and Karthik, set in the backdrop of rural Malabar. The story of the film depicts the hierarchy that is often followed in a police station. Earlier, the makers of the film announced that the movie is set to hit the theatres on May 24.
Actress Miya George will be seen opposite Biju Menon as Jayashankar’s wife Sunitha. Several other well-known faces like Dileesh Pothan, Anusree, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Ranjith, Kottayam Nazeer, Jaffer Idukki, Bilas Chandrahasan Nair, Joji Mundakayam, Renjit Shekar, Sabumon Abdusamad, Dinesh Prabhakar, Vijayan Karanthoor will be seen in prominent roles.
Biju Menon and Asif Ali duo is set to be seen together again after a three-year gap. Earlier, the duo worked together on several successful projects like Sunday Holiday in 2017, Vijay Superum Pournamiyum in 2019, and Innale Vare in 2021.
The title motion poster of Thalavan was earlier shared by Asif Ali on social media, which garnered huge public attention.
Recently, the makers of the film dropped the theme song of the film on May 11. The song gives the perfect flavour of the theme of the cinema. The music of the film is composed by Deepak Dev, while the theme song is sung by famous Malayalam singer Anand Sriraj. The script of the film is penned by Sharath Perumbavoor and Anand Thevarkad while director Jis Joy penned the dialogues.
