Broken News 2 Cast Disagrees With Nora Fatehi's Take On Feminism, Stresses On Equal Rights
Shriya Pilgaonkar said that people do not search for the definition of feminism on Google. Feminism is about equal rights.

Sonali Bendre, Jaideep Ahlawat and Shriya Pilgaonkar will be next seen in the sequel of the hit web series The Broken News. Revolving around the rivalry between two Mumbai-based Indian News Channels, the series depicts the clash between ethical and non-ethical journalism. The first season was a big hit. So, the makers decided to continue the show to its second season. The series is written by Mike Bartlett, who created the Original. It is directed by Vinay Waikul. The second season is scheduled to premiere on Zee5 on May 3. To promote the show, the lead cast recently gave an interview with the YouTuber Janice Sequeria. There, they expressed their views on the controversial statements made by actress Nora Fatehi on Feminism.

Nora Fatehi is currently grabbing the headlines after stating that Feminism has ruined society. She claimed that females and males are equal on ‘sentimental things’ but they should not be equal in the roles they need to play in society. Sharing their reaction on the same, the lead cast of Broken News said that they don’t agree with such notions and shared how feminism caters to equal rights for all and how it’s not a ‘male-bashing’ concept.

Shriya Pilgaonkar said that people do not search for the definition of feminism on Google. Feminism is about equal rights. “People think feminism is about male bashing which is not true.” She believes that many people are feminists without knowing it, but somehow they don’t call themselves by that name because they think that feminism is condemning men.

Jaideep Ahlawat also agreed with Shriya Pilgaonkar. “We don’t need to put any gender down to uplift another,” said Jaideep Ahlawat. At the same time, actress Sonali Bendre said that the definition of feminism has taken the meaning of criticising men, which is uncomfortable for many people including her. Everyone does not want to be great but wants equal rights, added Sonali Bendre.

She said, “This imbalance leads to the expectation of a balanced society, which creates problems when both the scales are not equal.”

Jaideep Ahlawat, Sonali Bendre and Shriya Pilgaonkar are playing the role of Journalists in the series.
