Dhanush Appears in Madras HC, Rejects Couple's Paternity Claim
Dhanush had filed a petition in the high court to appeal to dismiss the proceedings started by the judicial magistrate court in Melur.

Tamil actor Dhanush appeared before the Madurai bench of the Madras high court on Tuesday. As a report suggests, the actor was directed by the court in connection with an elderly couple - R Kathiresan (65) and his wife K Meenakshi’s (53) claim that he was their son.

On appearing before the court, justice G Chockalingam directed the government doctors and the registrar of the high court bench to authenticate his identification marks. After the process of verification of Dhanush’s birthmarks, the case was adjourned to March 2 for final hearing.

Dhanush had filed a petition in the high court to appeal to dismiss the proceedings started by the judicial magistrate court in Melur. As reports suggest, the couple demanded maintenance from Dhanush claiming that the he was their son.

The actor not only quashed their claim, but also stated that this was a way to get money from him.

While Kathiresan and Meenakshi claimed that their son had two birthmarks - a mole on the collar and a scar on forearm, the actor dismissed the presence of any such marks on his body.

The couple also called the actor’s birth certificate - which said he was born on July 28, 1983 - fake as it didn’t carry his name.

According to the report, the birth certificate was issued on June 21, 1993, a decade after Dhanush’s birth. And if the certificate wasn’t fake, the actor should have been a Class 5 student at that time. The couple’s side also questioned how a birth certificate could be issued after a decade of Dhanush’s birth, and still not carry his name.

In addition to this, it was also stated that the name of the father in the birth certificate is Krishnamoorthy. And if the records are anything to go by, Krishnamoorthy changed his name to Kasturi Raja on February 18, 2015.

But the actor clarified that his birth name R K Venkatesh Raja was changed to Dhanush K Raja in 2003. The coupe’s side further added that the papers that were filed before the court clearly stated that his name was mentioned as Dhanush in in 2002.
