Dia Mirza shared several videos of her son Avyaan playing and touching plants in her garden.

World Health Day is marked on April 7 each year and aims to focus attention on a certain health issue that affects people globally. This year, many celebrities commemorated the day in their unique way. While some stressed the need to stay fit, others tried to motivate people to take up exercising daily. Dia Mirza decided to mark the day differently. Although our health is very much related to diet and workouts, the actress believes that nature has a big role to play as well.

Dia Mirza emphasized the need to spend more time in nature and shared how her son Avyaan loves his time in the gardens. The actress wrote, “The greatest gift of health we can give our children is time in nature. This #WorldHealthDay let us ensure that we make time for nature every day. Sensory healing that nature provides is known to have many benefits for children that last through life. Grown ups make time for nature too! Watch a bird, sit in the shade of a tree, walk bare feet on soil and grass, listen to bird song, chase butterflies, witness the wonders and miracles that nature performs every day.” She shared several videos of her son playing in the garden. The little munchkin could be seen touching the leaves and flowers. She also mentions that her son is gradually learning to speak and has been trying to say “hello plant” “hi plant” and “garden” in the clips.

Many of her followers agreed with the notion and praised her for creating awareness. “You are so down to earth…and the wonderful person..my celebrity crush forever..because you are genuinely awesome..love you dia,” said one.

Dia Mirza is a staunch environmentalist. Earlier this year, she attended the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6), in Nairobi. Speaking about the need to protect the environment, the actress told The Hindustan Times, “If we don’t start acting now and take the initiatives that we need to take, it will be too late. We need to make peace with each other to save our environment. We need world peace. When countries are at war with each other, it can have a significant impact on nature as well.”

Dia most recently appeared in the drama film Dhak Dhak, which also starred Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Sanjana Sanghi in prominent parts. She will next appear in director Anubhav Sinha’s IC-814: The Kandahar Attack, which will be available on the OTT platform Netflix.
