Mumbai: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to hospital early on Saturday. Though the actor is out of ICU now, the doctors are keeping a close watch on him.
The 93-year old thespian was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. Known as the 'tragedy king', the actor made his Bollywood debut with 'Jwar Batta' in 1944. As per the doctor, Dilip Kumar had fever on Friday night due to which he vomited a few times and was then brought to the hospital for respiratory problems at 2.00 am early morning. "He was having fever yesterday and he vomited few times, later he was shifted to Lilavati Hospital for respiratory problems at 2.00 am this morning."
In 2015, the actor was honoured with Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award, by Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Not only the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Vibhushan award in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 but Pakistan government also gave him the highest civilian honour - Nishan-e-Imtiaz in 1997.
