Adah Sharma is one of the most popular actresses in Hindi and Telugu cinema. She created quite a stir with her last release, The Kerala Story. The actress made her acting debut in 2008 with the supernatural horror Hindi film 1920. The movie was a huge success, and she became a star overnight. Recently, Adah Sharma shared a spooky experience of hers from her debut, which is currently garnering everyone’s attention.
In one of the scenes in the movie, actress Adah Sharma is shown eating a cat like a tasty dish which shocked the viewers. Many wondered how Adah would have done this scene, as she is a pure vegetarian. In an interview with Mirchi Plus, the actress talked about her scene of eating the cat. She said, “The cat I was eating in one scene was fake. I couldn’t refuse as the script demanded.”
The actress further said that director Vikram Bhatt wanted the scene to feel authentic, so he asked her to eat it as if it were very tasty. He wanted the viewers to relate to the scene. He also wanted Adha to make the sound of his mouth while eating to make the scene more relatable and realistic. She added that when one shoots a horror scene, it feels like a comedy but it is done to scare people.
1920 was written and directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film centres on what happens to a married couple in 1920 who moves into a haunted mansion. In the film debutantes Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma played the lead roles while Indraneil Sengupta had a special appearance.
The movie was loosely inspired by the 1973 horror film The Exorcist; it is the first instalment of the 1920 film series, which was a commercial success. The film was also dubbed into Telugu and Tamil under the title 1920 Gayathri. A sequel, 1920: The Evil Returns, was released in 2012 and received mixed reviews.
Adah Sharma was last seen in the drama movie The Kerala Story. Sudipto Sen directed it, while Vipul Amrutlal Shah backed the project. It also features Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani in important roles. The plot follows a group of women from Kerala who are coerced into converting to Islam and joining the Islamic State.
