The upcoming Tamil film J Baby, starring actor Urvashi and Attakathi Dinesh in the lead roles, has completed censor formalities and received a clean U certificate, as announced by the film’s makers on social media. Produced by filmmaker Pa Ranjith under his banner Neelam Productions, the film promises to be a wholesome family entertainer. This marks the first film from the banner to secure a U certificate. While a release date for the film is yet to be announced, Pa Ranjith expressed excitement about bringing a story filled with genuine emotions to audiences without any cuts or mutes.

The film J Baby marks the directorial debut of Suresh Mari, who has previously assisted directors Venkat Prabhu in films like Saroja and Goa, and Pa Ranjith in Kabali and Kaala. Backed by Pa Ranjith in association with Abhayanand Singh, Piiyush Singh, Saurabh Gupta, Aditi Anand, and Ashwini Chaudhary, the film is highly anticipated.
According to reports, J Baby is set to be a family drama, with Urvashi and Dinesh portraying a mother-son duo. Additionally, the film features Lollu Sabha Maran, who was last seen in Vadakkupatti Ramasamy alongside Santhanam. Expectations are high for the film, which is anticipated to blend elements of comedy, emotion and drama.
The technical crew of J Baby includes Jayanth Sethu Mathavan as the cinematographer, with Tony Britto composing the score and Shanmugam Velusamy handling editing duties. While a release date for the film is yet to be announced, Neelam Productions, founded by Pa Ranjith, has a track record of backing films with strong narratives. Critically acclaimed movies like Pariyerum Perumal, Seththumaan, and Writer have been part of the banner’s successful run.
Neelam Productions also produced the 2024 film Blue Star, featuring Ashok Selvan and Shathanu Bhagyaraj.
