Kalki 2898 AD's tickets are selling at a whopping Rs 2,300 in India. The film stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.

Kalki 2898 AD tickets are being sold at a whopping Rs 2300 and it is not even in the regions of Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. The Nag Ashwin film is set to release on Thursday, June 27. The highly-anticipated Telugu film, which is also releasing in Hindi and Tamil, stars Prabhas in the lead alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone. With advance booking already opened, many fans have already booked first day first show tickets in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi and Chennai.

The tickets for the film are being priced between Rs 100 and Rs 1,100 in most cities. However, it comes as a surprise that the most expensive ticket for the Nag Ashwin film is set at Rs 2300 and it is not even in Hyderabad, where the film has the highest craze. Upon researching, News18 found out that the most expensive ticket for Kalki 2898 AD is being sold in Mumbai.

Maison INOX: Jio World Plaza in BKC is selling tickets for Kalki 2898 AD for Rs 2,300. Coming close to it is the INOX: Insignia at Atria Mall, Worli and PVR ICON: Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel, who are selling the tickets to the film at Rs 1,760 and Rs 1,560, respectively. These prices are without taxes.

Meanwhile, PVR Director`s Cut, Ambience Mall in Gurugram is selling Kalki 2898 AD tickets at Rs 1,850. New Delhi’s PVR: Select City Walk is selling the tickets at Rs 1,700. In Hyderabad, the most expensive ticket is capped at Rs 600.

Although Andhra Pradesh has a cap on ticket prices, the Andhra Pradesh government has now allowed a hike for the tickets for the movie. The government has approved a ticket price increase of Rs 75 for single-screen cinemas and Rs 125 for multiplexes, applicable for two weeks starting from the movie’s release date and for all five daily showings. This decision follows a request from Aswini Dutt, the producer of Kalki 2898 AD, categorised as a ‘Super High Budget Film’.

The trailer of the film was released earlier this month and it suggested that Kalki 2898 AD is a futuristic take on the Mahabharat. The story begins in Kaashi, a land rich in resources, ruled by Saswata Chatterjee’s character, who demands complete loyalty. A prophecy reveals a child will overthrow him, and this child is carried by Deepika Padukone’s character. To protect his reign, the king puts a bounty on her head. Prabhas’ character, Bhairava, a top hunter, believes it’s his destiny to capture her. Amitabh Bachchan’s Ashwatthama aims to protect her. The trailer ended with an intense glimpse of Kamal Haasan, leaving fans excited.
