As excitement builds for her upcoming film, Gaga stirred curiosity with a series of cryptic posts on Instagram.
Known for sharing glimpses of her daily life or career updates, Gaga surprised fans by posting three striking images with bold messages. The first declared, “I’m ready for my interview,” followed by another stating, “Don’t tell me what to wear.”
Lastly, she dropped another message that stated, “No Duct Tape, No Mission.”
The posts instantly sparked a lot of curiosity online, leaving her fans wondering whether she was hinting toward any upcoming single or film or was simply venting out her heart. Gaga recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight and opened up about the cryptic messages.
ET’s Denny Directo brought up the posts and asked, “I know you are speaking to your fans through these cryptic messages. I mean, Gaga, is this promo for the film or for your new single? What are you trying to tell us?” visibly leaving the singer in a daze.
After a brief pause and a blank expression, Lady Gaga said, “It’s a secret.” Expressing how the question caught her off guard, she added, “There was a good question there; it stumped me.” Though it seems like the cryptic posts are primarily being linked to the promotions of Joker 2, it is also likely that Gaga might be using the same to build anticipation for her other endeavours. Besides her film, she also has a song release, lined up for October. Earlier this month, Gaga shared a picture of her schedule, marking “XX October: LG7 first single.”
Speaking about Joker: Folie a Deux, Lady Gaga takes on the role of Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck. The film recently premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, where it received a standing ovation. Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker 2 reunites Phoenix with his Oscar-winning role. Lady Gaga will make her first-ever appearance in the franchise, adding much to the intense anticipation.
Joker: Folie a Deux will be released globally on October 4, 2024.
