'Natural For Dhanush To Direct Movies': Vetrimaaran
Vetrimaaran and Dhanush have worked in superhit films like Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai and Asuran in the past.

Dhanush’s Raayan is creating a buzz in the entertainment industry after it was released worldwide in theatres last month. It was directed by Dhanush and starred Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sundeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram in prominent roles. Dhanush played the lead role in the film. The film made with an estimated budget of Rs 100 crore garnered over Rs 150 crore worldwide at the box office. It has become the highest-grossing Tamil film of this year. This is the second film of the actor-turned-director Dhanush.

His first directorial Pa Paandi in 2017. Acing his second directorial film, Dhanush’s filmmaking skills are now discussed across the Indian cinema. The National Awardee director Vetrimaaran presented his views on the same. He called Dhanush’s directorial skills a natural progression due to his family background in filmmaking.

Vetrimaaran and Dhanush have worked in superhit films like Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai and Asuran in the past. The duo never fails to surprise their fans when come together. During a recent appearance of Vetrimaaran at a public event, the critically acclaimed director was questioned about Dhanush’s directorial skills. Vetrimaaran called it a natural progression as his brother Selvaraghavan and father Kasthuri Raja are directors. He further praised his skills for grasping the concepts fast.

“His father is a director, his brother is a director and he also has the acumen to learn fast. So, I think it is very natural of him to become a director,” said Vetrimaaran.

The Vetrimaaran-Dhanush reunion for Vada Chennai 2 has been in the news for a long time. The fans are eagerly waiting for the announcement of the sequel of this superhit film. Vetrimaaran started his directorial journey with the film Polladhavan in 2007. It starred Dhanush in the lead role. The director earned praise for his filmmaking. After the success of the film, the director took a break from filmmaking for four years to return with a masterpiece Aadukalam. It again starred Dhanush in the lead role. Vetrimaaran was awarded the National Award for the film.

The last film of Vetrimaaran and Dhanush was Asuran which was one of the superhit films in 2019. It also won the National Award for Best Feature Film In Tamil. Vetrimaaran is currently working on the sequel of Viduthalai starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role.
