Nelson Dilipkumar Turns Producer With Launch Of Filament Pictures

Nelson Dilipkumar is one of the top trending directors in Tamil cinema. He is known for films like Jailer (2023), Doctor (2021) and Beast (2022).

He debuted as a director through the film Kolamaavu Kokila in 2018, a dark comedy film starring Nayanthara and Yogi Babu. He won the Best Screenplay Award at the Norway Tamil Film Festival for his directorial debut.

Following the success of the first film, he directed films like Doctor with Sivakarthikeyan, Beast with Vijay and Jailer with Rajinikanth.

If it’s a Nelson film, there will be no shortage of laughs and action.

The film Beast, released in 2022, suffered a slippage. But he levelled it with Jailer. Jailer was a huge hit and made Rs 700 crores at the box office.

Nelson is currently busy shooting for the second part of Jailer. At this stage, he is moving to the next stage in his screen journey and the director is now turning into a producer also.

In a statement on a social media platform X, he said, “My film journey started at the age of 20, and the industry has given me many ups and downs over the years, all of which have resulted in my growth. It has been my long-time dream to start my own production company. That dream has come true today, with Filament Pictures.”

Nelson further mentioned that the company’s main goal is to provide creative and interesting content to entertain the audience. He also announced that he will release information about his production company’s first film on May 3 at 6 pm.

“At Filament Pictures, our primary goal is to produce creative and interesting content that entertains a wider audience. We’re kicking off with a project that perfectly embodies our vision and promises to be quirky and fun-filled. Stay tuned for our first project announcement on May 3rd. Thank you for your support!” he added.

Following the announcement made by the director, actors and fans flocked to social media to congratulate them for adding another deal to his list. It is expected that the film will have Bigg Boss Tamil contestant Kavin in the lead.
