If you’re an active social media user with a penchant for scrolling reels, chances are you’ve stumbled upon the latest viral sensation, Chor by Justh. This catchy track has taken the internet by storm, garnering widespread acclaim and recognition across the country.

Juth, formerly a Chartered Accountant, has emerged as the face behind the viral hit Chor. Released in December 2023, the song has impressed audiences with its relatable lyrics, propelling it to become the most viral song on Spotify in India and globally. Moreover, the music video has amassed over 1.5 million views on YouTube, with numerous celebrities jumping on the bandwagon by creating reels featuring the song.

In an interview with the Indian Express, Justh shared insights into his artistic philosophy. He emphasised that his primary goal was never to seek acknowledgement for his art. Refraining from disclosing his real name, Justh conveyed, “I think there is no such thing as a stage name or a non-stage name. Justh is only making tea. Justh is only having his food and Justh is only performing. So I don’t believe in this concept like this is a stage name and this is a non-stage name.”

Drawing inspiration from the works of Rabindranath Tagore, Justh’s artistic inclinations are evident in his recent viral sensation, Chor. However, instead of elucidating the song’s meaning, Justh prefers to leave it open to interpretation by his listeners. He subscribes to the notion that poets and authors seldom explain their creations, allowing readers to interpret and derive their meanings.

Beyond his viral hit, Justh is a well-traveled artist known for his musical prowess. He has graced stages across various locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York and has been part of national tours for Motojojo. Moreover, he has performed at renowned Indian venues such as The Habitat, Bandcamp, Prithvi Theatre, Hive and The Cuckoo Club, among others. Additionally, Justh has showcased his talent at college fests and music festivals like Under 25, Spoken Fest, Tribe Vibe, Lil Flea and more.

Justh’s meteoric rise in the music industry underscores his versatility as an artist and his ability to gain audience attention with his unique blend of talent and creativity.
