Malayalam film fans have to wait a little longer for Asif Ali and Suraj Venjaramoodu-starrer Adios Amigo. The film was earlier scheduled to release on August 2, but has now been postponed. Fret not, the date has not been pushed too far. Adios Amigo will now hit the theatres on August 15. Sharing the update on Facebook, Asif Ali wrote: “A little delay, a lot more excitement! We’re pushing back the release of Adios Amigo to August 15.” Asif Ali and Suraj Venjaramood are playing the lead roles in this film. It also features Shine Tom Chacko, Ganapathi, Althaf Salim, Jinu Joseph, Salim Hassan, Anagha, Muthumani, and Riaa Saira in prominent roles. Debutant director Nahas Nasser is helming the movie. Adios Amigo’s shooting started on February 12 in Kochi.
The film’s first look poster came out in April this year. The makers shared it on Instagram and captioned it in Malayalam, which can be translated to: “Dream or reality, this world is beautiful, beautiful. ADIOS AMIGO is coming soon (sic).”
Adios Amigo is bankrolled by Ashiq Usman. Jimshi Khalid was in charge of the cinematography, while editing was by Nishadh Yusuf. Gopi Sunder scored the music.
Asif Ali celebrated his 38th birthday on February 4. On this day, he shared exciting news about his future film projects with fans. The makers of Thalavan released a makeover video, which depicted Asif Ali’s transformation for the cop role. The clip shows Asif Ali in a makeup room, getting his hair done, and then donning a police uniform while filming. Thalavan is produced by Arun Narayana and Sijo Sebastian under the banners of Arun Narayan Productions and London Studios. The movie’s music is composed by Deepak Dev.
Thalavan stars Asif Ali and Biju Menon. The film released on May 24. It has performed well at the box office, crossing an impressive Rs 25 crore-mark globally. This success is deemed as a sort of comeback for Asif Ali, as he had recently delivered multiple flops.
