It seems to be a good year for Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor as several good projects including Haseena: The Queen Of Mumbai, Half Girlfriend and now Saina Nehwal's biopic, are lining up to brighten her filmography.
The actress, who shot to fame with the romantic drama Aashiqui 2, will now play the ace badminton player Saina Nehwal in Amole Gupte's directorial. Shraddha took to Twitter to express her happiness and said that she feels honoured to have given this opportunity.
"SAINA NEHWAL - The former World no 1 badminton player. An Indian girl. An inspiration to millions. A youth icon in the truest sense. @NSaina. Her journey to the top has been fascinating & I am honored to be given this opportunity to play her in my next film 'SAINA'," she wrote.
She further mentioned that this might just be her most difficult project till date. "The preparation for this film is going to be very, very challenging. It's probably going to be my most difficult film till date," she added.
However, this isn't the first time that the actress will bring to screen the life of a known name. Just two days back, she unveiled the poster of her film Haseena: The Queen Of Mumbai which sees her playing Dawood Ibrhaim's sister and gangster Haseena Parkar.
With Bollywood finding its new safe haven in sports biopics, actors - whether it was Farhan Akhtar in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Priyanka Chopra in Mary Kom or Sushant Singh Rajput in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story - have made the most of the biopics offered to them and turned them their careers' high points. Would Shraddha's career also get that boost post this biopic? Guess we will have to wait and watch.
