"Sorry, I'm done!" Doesn't it sound a bit weird? What would be your reaction when someone suddenly comes and tells you that he or she is done? It's obvious that you'd be worried. That's exactly what happened with actor Sidharth Malhotra's fans on Thursday evening when he posted a cryptic tweet on his microblogging account.
The actor, who is currently prepping for his next film Aiyaary, suddenly updated his Twitter DP to black and his bio to read "Off". He then shared a weird post in which he wrote, "Sorry, I'm done."
sorry iam done !— Sidharth Malhotra (@S1dharthM) December 14, 2017
His 6.64 million followers were quick to notice this and wanted to check if all was well with their favourite star. Things became too serious when Sidharth's Aiyaary co-star Rakul Preet Singh asked him "Is everything alright?"
Wait !! What is this ??????Is everything alright @S1dharthM #SidsOffTheGrid— Rakul Preet (@Rakulpreet) December 14, 2017
However, a few fans got confused when they saw the hashtag #SidsOffTheGrid in Rakul's post. Some suggested that it could be a strategy to promote Aiyaary, while others thought the actor might be going through a difficult time.
Later, one user shared a screengrab of a message which appears to be from the film's marketing team. "We're doing a promotional activity for Aiyaary with Sidharth Malhotra and we want you guys to make as much noise about it as possible. The hashtag is #SidsOffTheGrid. We want you to speculate reasons as to why he's gone? Where he is? Is something wrong with him?, etc. Let's make Sid trend all day," the post read.

Soon after the post went viral on social media, Sidharth's fans started expressing displeasure.
Check out a few tweets:
Marketing strategy, isn't it? If yes then definitely you guys can do better than this! Disgusting marketing tactics. #SidsOffTheGrid pic.twitter.com/FxcBGNuuPY— Sukhpreet (@SukhpreetWrites) December 14, 2017
If this is for Aiyaari's promotion then this man has seriously lost all the respect I had for him.— Siddhant (@IamSiddhant0701) December 14, 2017
However, we can't confirm if the viral post is authentic.
